New shapes & templates for marketing materials

The B2C newsletter builder company, Smore, needed consistent, fun, and friendly designs and templates to use across web, paid ads, and organic social. They wanted to highlight their their trusty mascot, Smorinio, who is beloved among users.

Before I dove into the creation of ads and other marketing materials, I refined and expanded upon the existing shape library. These shapes were intentionally organic and blobby to align with the current illustration aesthetic, highlight the friendly color palette, and add motion to static designs.

I also developed new background patterns for the UI of the newsletter builder itself to help better align the platform and the brand.

To establish a consistent look and feel across marketing materials, I was tasked to create a plethora of templates to be used across our customer-facing materials. Categories we wanted to have visuals approved for were infographics, data visualization, highlighting the newsletter interface, testimonials, and more.

These designs helped to establish a library of templates organized by content type. This has made subsequent design creation more efficient. These new designs also helped push Smore’s LinkedIn followers to over 3,000 users.
